Jesus, dude. You act like you know so much about how BR proper is screwing the St. George area, yet don't even have a grasp of basic facts of the arrangement of governance.

The very first post in this thread has a link to an article. The article outlined how members of the council tried three chicken shite moves

And all three were either voted down, tabled or completely deleted from discussion. I hope you are intelligent to realize that means the idiots LOST. SG won.

You do know that there are twelve members of the metro council?

Ok she speaks for one twelfth. Thanks, I didn't know that.

The CATS map below shows their routes which run well into the SG area, including the Gardere area, Siegen Lane, Bluebonnet and all the way to Flannery Road north of Fla. Blvd.

You really are an ignoramus. With exception to siegen, the areas youlisted are on the outskirts of st.George....EXACTLY LIKE I SAID. I even posted a damn link to the map in my message....its pretty well obvious to the non-ignorant where CATS busses log the most hours and miles. When a CATS bus comes out here to hooshootoo I'll eat my words.

I read the article. You read my post. The bullshite pisses people off, even simply bringing it up. I know it didn't pass... Some of it was tabled, right?

Too bad the schools still suck.

Is that supposed to negate the improvement?

About what? I'm not one making the claim that BR leadership has been neglecting the St. George area.

You're just not very good with numbers.

Earlier you wrote that SG has "roughly the same population" as Baton Rouge. (SG=107,000. BR=230,000)

Now you think there are 7 council members.

There are 12 council members.

There are 7 council members whose council districts are made up entirely or partly from the SG area.
SG has more representation on the council than the inner city of Baton Rouge does.

What if these areas, some of which are the near the borderline of bad areas start to go downhill?
No proof of this, but it is a good point.

But the last thing I'd want is the swath of urban decay that is North BR to encroach any further than it is.
Agreed, but that doesn't mean that the people of SG should have to accept sub-standard education on this hypothetical.

Won't those same students be attending Woodlawn even if SG becomes a new city and a new school system? I don't follow what point you think you're making. Do you think a kid will think, "Oh, wait, this is the SG school district now. I going to be a good boy!"?

I'm guessing a lot of the kids that go to Woodlawn are bussed in. So yes the demographics of the school would change. This probably wouldn't happen there and if it did he would be found quickly. There you go again saying untrue things.

No. The improvement is great. Kudos. However, it's a completely separate issue. SG isn't incorporating b/c of the status of downtown BR.

Is this a serious question? Are you actually of the opinion that they've done their best?

I have read, written and revised budgets in four different languages. If it makes you feel better about yourself to keep repeating your silly claim, knock yourself out.

It's been amusing to see you devolve into a such a bitter mood with all of your snide comments.

I'm tired. We were pretty ugly to each other last night and I don't want to do that anymore.

How about we agree to disagree for two more days until another one of these St George threads comes around.

Well, I do think it is a serious concern. It wouldn't necessarily happen overnight. But the impression I'm getting from some of the St. George supporters is tinkering on "frick BR, let the rats have it". But if we take that attitude, who knows when the same problems BR faces eventually show up on our doorstep.
