The double standard is hilarious. It was especially evident during the knockout game shite. A video would be posted of kids getting what they deserved after playing the knockout game and the guy who gave them what they deserved would be praised to high heaven. When a cop does it, without even knowing what the kid did, the cop is a TPOS.

This is so stupid.

I never said what the cop did was right. I just commented on the double standard.

Cuz the difference between the thug and the cop is the badge?

It does matter. If the suspect did something bad and then the cops finally catch up to him, I salute and appreciate the cops doing a little street justice prior to the attorneys stepping in.

Exactly. The kid had weed and ran. If that doesn't deserve a pistol whip to the teeth, what does? Who cares that he surrendered.

I'm not sure the union rep assigned to defend him counts as "the thin blue line"

Why not? Isn't the rep a cop?

When cops start going to jail for assault and battery in these instances like any normal civilian would, then you can start talking about double standards. Until then, carry on bootlicker

How often do you see these citizens arrested for battery when they beat the shite out of someone committing a crime?

There was a thread on here about a month ago about a father that shot a drunk driver that hit and killed his kids. Half of the posters in the thread were supporting him and the charges against him were dropped.

What crime was this kid committing that required the officers to hit him while he was lying on the pavement with his hands cuffed behind his back?

The charges weren't dropped. He went to trial and was acquitted. Your really good at making shite up though. Continue to carry on bootlicker

Because it's his job to defend him as his rep, no? I'd point fingers at instances of those that are supposed to investigate steering things away intentionally, those that may be witnesses that are covering for him etc.... Not his rep

I was not commenting on this situation. I was speaking in general about the double standard. I have not made a single comment about the cops' actions in this situation.

I didn't remember exactly how the guy got off. Does it really matter though?

I think police unions are pretty commonly considered part of the "thin blue line".

Double standard? How are the two incidents even remotely similar?

That wasn't the original example I used. I originally was talking about the citizens that would beat the shite out of some teens playing the knockout game every once in a while. They were treated like heros where if a cop did the same thing they would be vilified.

Then open your eyes or whatever his name is started blabbling about the double standard being warranted because citizens are arrested for battery in these situations and cops are not.

Because they're police officers. Their entire job is to uphold the law, not dish out vigilante justice. We're capable of that on our own. This isn't hard shite.
