will crawfish prices soar? crater? will a combo of wet weather and a hard freeze, followed by rapid warming, coupled with the coriolis effect on crawfish pond circulation patterns cause a great harvest? what about the inclination of Venus's orbit at this time of year coupled with the present La Nina pattern?

Lower

They can catch a lot more of them cause the cold blooded crustaceans move much slower when it’s cold.

We were spoiled with cheap crawfish these past few years. It was bound to happen sooner or later.

Last year really was epic. I ate so much crawfish, I’m good until next season.

I won’t buy any. frick crawfish, and the white trash 8th grade educated scumbags who farm them.

Hopefully the prices go up so we can help the farmers pay for all their new toys.

Wholesale crawfish were $1.50 or lower from the end of January through the rest of the season. Not sure what you mean

The fact that Valentine's Day is also Ash Wednesday will perfectly justify $1 more per pound.

In all seriousness, you can thank the assholes in Texas who will pay $8/lb on why prices have continued to rise over the past decade or so.

I am friends with several guys who make a significant amount of side money crawfishing the basin, can't speak to what ponds are doing.

Every possible atmospheric & hydrologic condition, no matter which way they are trending is bad for crawfishermen and will make the prices go up.

Too much water - bad for crawfishermen
Not enough water - bad for crawfishermen
Exactly the right amount of water - bad for crawfishermen
Too hot - bad for crawfishermen
Too cold - bad for crawfishermen

You get the point.

Very true. I see it first hand. Still these last 2 freezes are pushing the season back.

I have one friend saying he’s doing a boil for the super bowl and another is having a boil on Lundi Gras a week later. They both have there guy to get it from, I’ll believe it when I see it.

What is the ideal water level, temperature, sunlight exposure, etc. for crawfish? It just seems like they’re like women and impossible to please.
