What is more “secure” about self employment income? You can lose your job just as easily as your business can go belly up.

I have a friend that owns a business that grosses about $50mil/yr. she doesn’t finance much anymore but told me in the past that it was hard for her to get financing for some personal loans because she didn’t give herself a salary, so the lender could not see any income.

What is the acreage of this lot? I am asking because they clearly didn't buy the house, in fact, having the house on it is only going to cost them more money. I am just wondering if they bought a acre or less for $1M. I know that isn't a big surprise considering where it is located, but I don't care where it's at, that's a lot of money for a small piece of land.
