Yep. Not the first study I've heard about that didn't get published, not because it was incorrect or bad scientifically but because it went against the preferred groupthink.
There was a modeling paper authored by that Gomes lady that took into account a lower HIT and a heterogeneous population, which seems to be what the data has shown in multiple countries. Was denied based off of political reasons rather than scientific ones.

According to the Oxford Centre for Evidence Based Medicine, prior to this year, there had been a total of 12 clinical studies with 13,000 total participants to determine the effectiveness of masks in preventing virus transmission. All 12 concluded that masks alone have no significant effect in interrupting the spread of influenza in the general population, nor in healthcare workers. Now in 2020, the “science” has somehow changed.
