Almost all of the crawfish traps being run in Louisiana today are being done by immigrants. Get ready for even higher crawfish prices.

My crew typically has 10 guys. Yesterday there were three. Didn’t click until I just read your post.

Mother fricking this. If yall think things are expensive now, wait until the labor shortage.

The same reasoning applied to ending slavery.

Low labor costs cannot be the only value

To all the idiots saying labor shortage we made it years without illegals when American still worked

You’d think that no developed country can even exist without importing impoverished immigrants to work for peanuts, the way these people talk.

I fail to see any downside to deporting illegals.

And make no mistake, despite only 50% having a active criminal record ( l o effing l ) they are all breaking the law.

There may be a hiccup in the unskilled and semi-skilled trades, but too bad.

Cheap labor is not worth the 50% criminal rate, and they absolute drain they put on social services.

A neighbor of mine was salutatorian of her HS and is a 4.0 junior at LSU. She was brought here when she was six months old. Great kid that would give everything she has to help people.
Not everyone you want to kick out is a gangbanger or construction worker.

She shouldn’t be deported.

Who was it on the national shows last week that dispelled this myth… only 1% of illegals work in the produce industry bc of the work visa that are allotted

The majority of illegals live in urban cities.

The bullshite needs to stop. It’s not a white, brown or black issue to say that too many people are being paid not to work. If handouts no longer support buying huge carts of groceries with bullshite nutritional value Americans will do the jobs they must do to eat. No more play money and food stamps because you want to claim “disability” or use children to get money.

What I do not understand is how every employer with an EIN is not forced to use I-9 verification. Industries, such as construction, could become subject to scrutiny for cash paychecks while I-9 would weed out fakes and duplicates.

And since time immemorial, farmers have been able to get seasonal immigrant labor through legal means. There is a way to do that without opening the border.
