The Value of Travelling (Full Study Document)
The premise behind this project is to show people that we are all connected, that we all have "cousins" all over the world. Really cool concept, pretty eye opening to be honest. What would your DNA tell about you?
How it works: DNA takes 50% from your mother, 50% from your father. This project then dives in deeper, taking 50% of your mother's parents, 50% of your father's parents, so on and so forth.
Pretty interesting stuff, until you realize that means you're probably related to your OT nemesis...or Rebloke

It would be interesting if they one day had a database where you can look up someone and see how closely related you are as well as figure out common ancestors.
This would be terrible for anyone that wins the lottery.

It's not exactly Earth shattering news that humans relate back to common ancestors, first of all. That fact doesn't extinguish the concept of race at all.
Also, it's not Earth shattering that a bunch of people from a now heavily multicultural society in Europe have mixed ancestry. And the term "pure race" is a red herring and one that can be manipulated to mean any number of different things.
Many people can trace their DNA and have it demonstrate a very homogeneous ethnic lineages. Unsurprisingly, those with more variation in their bloodlines have likely increased over the past 50 years for very obvious reasons.
People get sucked into these internet "feel good" narratives with very little critical thought.
