The dark side is that they are expensive as hell. I thought they were expensive when little. When they grow up, its much worse. My wife and I would be rich if we didn't any kids. In the home stretch though. Just got to get the twins through college. I'll be begging for change on the corner after work within a few years.

I do remember that first month when my daughter went to preschool. I've never been so sick. It was awful.

And, I've had COVID twice. Yep, the kids brought it home both times. We went through all of 2020 and part of 2021 before we ever even got COVID. It was when they went back to school.

Greatest joy of my life, my daughter being born saved me!

Is it frustrating at times, of course but kids are supposed to test us which also teaches us too

Adults sure can and I understand it can be very unpleasant. Thought it was a kids in daycare issue until several adults told me they caught it from their kids. My grand caught it from daycare so others told me to stay away. One had some skin loss from it.

I have one currently, my daughters are 6 and 3. I’ve had numerous stomach bugs that they’ve come home with and prior to having kids I probably went 10+ years without one. Wouldn’t trade them for the world though.

This is not the dark side of having kids. This is part of living in a house with other people who are frequently around people who are sick.

The dark side of having kids is the guilt you feel when you blow up on them because they are little assholes.

The dark side of having kids is the anxiety and anger you feel when your kid comes home and says someone bullied them.

The dark side of having kids is constantly picking up after them because they leave their shite everywhere and your blood pressure is sky high because you just got home from work and stepped on a fricking Lego that you told your kid to put away two days ago.

The dark side of having kids is parenting.

It’s the hardest fricking thing I do all day and I work on gigantic deals that can make or break companies.

But then I read to them at night and they put their heads on my shoulder and it’s all good.

Until the morning when they wake up in a rage at having to go to school again.

I worked in a hospital 19 years and never really had gotten sick... After my kids started going to school, I got sick pretty often...

Yea shite was miserable. Couldn’t eat much and it felt like someone was driving forks into my hands and feet anytime I did anything with them.
