The city should not have approved the street art in the first place.

This is what I would do, I would have my friends/family apply for a permit to paint their own message on a publicly owned street. Go with "White Lives Matter Too."

Government is then in a catch-22, they can approve the permit as they must, because they are constitutionally prohibited from picking and choosing what speech they like and what they don't, or they can deny it and then open themselves up to a civil rights lawsuit which it will lose.

Assuming government listens to their lawyers and issues the permit, as sure as the sun will rise in the east, some BLM/antifa protesters will deface the "White Lives Matter Too" mural and then this DA will have no choice but to charge them with a crime as well. She won't like that.

I didn’t kmow there were misdemeanor hate crimes.

Evidently there are. The grown man who sucker punched the 12 year old white kid in Missouri, I think, is one example. People in the family and community wanted him charged with a hate crime, but police said that if they did charge him like that, it would be a lesser charge and nowhere near as much jail time as Assault and Battery and Endangering the Wellfare of a Child.

I thought hate crimes had to be committed against an actual person.

The double standard is pretty crazy. If you want to call what they did, vandalism, then fine. Defacing public property is vandalism, I agree.(that goes with the folks tearing down statues as well).

But to automatically label this as a hate crime is pretty crazy.

Painting over a DNC fund raising operation's advertisement should not be a hate crime.

All I know is what was stated by the police in regards to the 12 year old getting sucker punched by a grown man.

They're being arrested, believe it or not, I see news stories every day almost about more people being arrested in relation the the rioting, looting, vandalism, and arsons during the "protests".

Police and investigators were taking names while that shite was going on. They are still working to find the people most responsible.
