I don't know if it is still true today, but when I visited in the early 90's it was mandatory for all citizens to serve 2 years in their military. There were a few hot girls walking around Haifa at that time, so these nice looking women in military clothes do not surprise me at all.

Still true. Fun fact....after a certain point in their initial enlistment the ladies are allowed to....tailor....their uniforms to better fit their figures.
