Probably because it's a clean well maintained store and with the location, they want to keep the trash away.

There is a Shell station like that in Old Metairie. It's way more expensive than any other place around, has good wine and beer selection, and non idiot cashiers. The richies who live in that area like to do there.

They probably do not move enough gas and do not have the buying power to get it cheaper. Most convience stores give away gas to get you inside to buy sodas. beer, coffee, tobacco, etc to make money.

Our local Texaco / mini-mart owner worker there from sunrise to sunset told me this. He doesn't make money off gas, just getting people in the store to buy other products. And bc he isn't one of the Texaco franchise chains, just a mini-mart with Texaco gas, he said he goes to Costco and buys many of the things sold inside except chips and soda alcohol and tobacco

Too bad that Popeyes closed.

That was a sad, sad day. RIP Bocage Popeye's.

I miss the one in the gas station at Highland and Lee as well.

And the one where the Jack in the Box is at LSU's north gates.

And the one on Florida right by 110.

It's capitalism because you can choose to buy their gas or anyone else's. When there's a state of emergency or a super low supply of gas, people don't have a choice but to buy their gas.

I can say first hand that very few people from Bocage stop to get gas there. There's two shell stations less than a mile in both directions that have normal priced gas. I'll never understand why that place marks up a dollar on everything but I would think they would sell more even if they just brought it down to 20c high. I'd love to know their numbers on people getting gas there because it's rare I see more than 3 cars at a time at the pumps.

Because Bocage.

I guess the patrons of the businesses in that area don't give a crap about the extra $0.40 a gallon, but at least when you shop in Bocage, you are getting a better experience than a Target or WalMart.

I don't see the reason for the premium on the gas prices from a service standpoint though.

Felt the need to revisit this. Wife(no pics) just got home from Sullivan’s (FYI- should have never went during restaurant week) passed the chevron by Bocage on the way home, and a lot of police as well... they were at 3.09 a gallon the race trac on Essen was 2.44 and the new race trac was 2.37 (FYI that is a few cpg low) if you have and idea of what rack has been the past few days !for the life of me how the hell has Chris nakamoto not called this chevron out? I get 10-20 cpg difference but 60-70 is just crazy. Doesn’t affect my life any which way but it’s crazy the price point. Difference.
