Why? Because agitators have to agitate.
If you give in, they see it as weakness and push for more.
If you resist them via law enforcement, they take that as a challenge made out of fear and push harder.
The only way to take them out is for the citizenry to stand against them (see: Latin Kings in Chicago for example).
For now though, I hope the CHAZ and whatever they are doing in Portland keeps all their stupid asses up there.

The Cabildo will he protected. If you are old enough and lived in NOLA during the Cabildo fire, which I did, it was a big deal.
Residents were torn up about it and spent years and millions restoring it.
They won’t let it happen again.
