I strangely love that song. Do yourself a favor and watch the video on YouTube.

Mike Patton does a great cover of it too.

Barry Gibb lives in Miami beach. He is worth $90 million and has a Mini Cooper parked in front. Tom Brady just bought a place aboot 2 miles from him.

Oops, meant preeminent.

Not going to blame it on autocorrect.

Wouldn’t be prudent, not at this juncture.

Got me.

His wiki biography says he presently spends a lot of time with his grandkids.

He has a country duets album coming out in January. Haven’t seen the track listing, but the commercial has him singing “Words” with Dolly.

Here’s the first Single, and it’s fantastic.

It’s been a long time since I’ve heard the song but I always assumed it was about a guy who acted like an arse all of his life and no one cared when he kicked the bucket.

Main Course is a great album. It's roots began on the previous album Mr. Natural that has a couple of underrated gems on it.

I have been a life long fan of the Bee Gees. I have heard that first album hundreds of time. I have never heard anything dark in their lyrics. I started a joke is a great song. I always thought that it was about regretting starting a joke that back fired. My son used to write music and he used to write deep lyrics. He used the word weight a lot. I won't try to explain further.

All I know about this song is that it made a disproportionately good cover appearance for a trailer of a shitty movie.

I do not think it had anything to do with suicide. When it came out I thought it may have something to do with Christ from the lyric, "I finally died, which started the whole world living." Probably due to being in a Catholic HS at the time.

The first Bee Gees song that I remember was

NY Mining Disaster 1941

I liked them - songs like Massachusetts, Words, Gotta Get a Message to You, Holiday, To Love Somebody, etc. I wasn't too into the disco times and Saturday Night Fever.

ETA: I have watched the HBO "How Can You Mend A Broken Heart" show a couple of times already. It's pretty good.

That's a good one. Also, "Islands In the Stream" - although Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers made it popular.

The Bee Gees tried country at some point but they didn't succeed in that gendre, but they wrote Island in the stream and other songs which became hits for other artists. The Disco era was one of their greatest as far as the charts. I liked the music but didn't like the change to the dance scene. The 1997 album posted with the link above is a great listen. Morris, the brother who was very rarely the lead singer, sings Closer Than Close. His voice in my humble opinion should have been highlighted more. The younger brother Andy was to young to join the group. Later had several of his on hits before drugs got the best of him.
