Wow. I haven't made a car payment since 2003. I prefer it that way.
Pay as little interest on depreciable assets as you can.

What are you talking about
Posted on 3/23/22 at 10:54 am to LNCHBOX
When you buy a package, you get a suite of features for an upcharge. Usually 5-15K more. Some of those features you really want, but most you usually dont need. In many cases, you can source the things you want in the aftermarket for less.
As for Katzkin... I have a set thats 10 years old and doesnt have a crack in them. So does a afriend of mine.
They are VERY good seat cover options and very fairly priced. Many dealerships will even allow you to add them to a vehicle and work it into the price.

For about 5% of Americans, yes....
But thats not who we are talking about.

why couldn't I finance a truck at 0% for 7 years, pay it off in 3 or 4 and use my cash on hand to invest in real estate like he did?
why is that impossible?

who said that was impossible? Let me frame the question this way. Do you think the above is what the vast majority of people do?

The exaggeration is real. $15k between trims

Neat.

My factory leather in both of my 7 year old vehicles looks brand new too.

uh you said you did not believe that you could own a $90k truck and be smart about it

I havent said that, nor do I believe it.

of course not, but why do you assume no one else in this thread could do it?
do you think you are the only one with that knowledge in this thread?

Because he is a narcissistic clown.

Yes. He has proven that he thinks he is the smartest person in the room.

What do you think the difference is in MSRP from an F150 XLT and say a King Ranch is?

sweet. You paid way more for it!

Well, you just jumped several trim levels, not one.

weet. You paid way more for it!
and I got way more stuff that goes with it, and my vehicle is worth more than one that had aftermarket stuff added.

I'm gonna go out on a dangerous limb and suggest maybe he thinks that the average consumer doesn't do this. They use that extra cash on hand to just buy other stuff. He is probably right. The average consumer is not financially-savvy.

Sounds like you bought a pretty practical vehicle that you could afford. That exactly what you should do.

We've been discussing, for many pages, where the vast majority of Americans get it wrong when buying a vehicle. If you want to talk about wealthy people buying high end vehicles, we can certainly have that conversation, but its not where my posts have been coming from.

Sadly, I believe most people know that this is a major problem in America, but as Roger pointed out, are intoxicated by the soils of debt - and get very sensitive when that gets pointed out. This thread is case in point.

sure
but he said he didn't believe it was possible despite claiming to do exactly that
