There is pretty good evidence now that we are not from this earth. No bones ever recovered of a half human, half ape creature. We jumped the process of evolution at some point. It is certainly plausible that some alien species crash landed here and could not survive so they mixed their DNA with whatever resembled them the most from this planet. This enabled them to survive and would explain the jump in the evolutionary process.
There have been books written about this theory and not as far-fetched as I'm sure some of you on here think

I think UFOs are blurry, that's the problem. It's not the photographer's fault. A UFO is blurry, and that's extra scary to me.

Our souls certainly aren’t from this earth. I sure hope that we can all finally accomplish what we came here to do.

Its a mathematical certainty that life is present elsewhere in the universe. There are billions and billions of solar systems within billions and billions of galaxies. The problem is that our level of technology, we can barely escape our own atmosphere. Interstellar travel is a pipe dream. If an alien civilization has the technological ability to reach us, we would be as insignificant as ants so why would they even bother?
