Armistice on the Western Front
On Nov. 11, 1918, after more than four years of horrific fighting and the loss of millions of lives, the guns on the Western Front fell silent. Although fighting continued elsewhere, the armistice between Germany and the Allies was the first step to ending World War I. The global reaction was one of mixed emotions: relief, celebration, disbelief and a profound sense of loss.

I can not even imagine what it was like living through the hell of WWI

There is an excellent book by that name, well worth seeking out and reading.

What a waste of humanity WWI was, and to top it off, the conditions of the signing helped push Germany into WWII.

Same here. Hopefully that German general that sent them back into battle 15 minutes before the end died from syphilis.

The netflix version on "All's Quiet on the Western Front" is terrible, comparatively speaking.

They shall not grow old is an AMAZING documentary/film using genuine WWI film and digitally remastering and coloring it.

It’s haunting and the guys on film literally stare into your soul.

Netflix also just released a remake of all quiet on the western front and it is fanfrickintastic as well.

1917 is another great WWI movie that has come out recently… man they have honestly been killing the WWI genre lately after a long dry spell

Read the book several times, and have watched the old B&W movie. Preferred the old one to the new version, I think it did a better job of following the book.

ETA-Obviously the new one has much better graphics.

I read that book in 6th grade and when I turned it in the librarian told me it shouldn't have even been in the middle school library because it was too graphic. I thought it was frickin awesome because 6th grade me hadn't quite developed much empathy. But it was pretty much what started me on the next 20 years of military history. CSB I know

The world would've been better off had Germany won.
