I had not until you posted this...prices are high, I supposed those listed are just "suggestions", but I think he is gonna have a hard time moving what I see at those prices to a buyer who is in tune with current secondary market conditions, especially for a new player without extensive history, which I don't see.
I will say if you are local and looking for something, for a used watch (still hard for me to say pre-owned, lol) there is definitely value in being able to hold the watch in your hand before buying and even take a look with a loupe.

When you posted a half day early, I was expecting maybe you were far overseas and sharing a travel time piece.
Which leads to a question: It sounds like you have a pretty structured rotation through your collection. Do you have specific watches you use while traveling that will cut the line, or do you just stick to the program?

I took today off and thought I might not have time to post today and in my rush to get out of the office I forgot to mention in the post it was Friday for me.
I tend to stick to a strict rotation but occasionally grab something out of order depending on what I am going that day. I have had to go out of order on a couple of Fridays in the last year to prevent a repeat. I figure I will show something new as long as I can and the thread keeps going. When I travel it is case by case depending on how long, what I am doing, and where I am going. I usually never travel with less than two because I have an old better Seiko GMT, it is an ugly watch with a great movement and it has served me well in places where security or damage are a concern.

The Planet Ocean I didn't know I needed

FYI I have the Aqua Terra Worldtimer and the 24 hour dial is a PITA to read especially at a glance.
I do love the dial, though. It is more attractive to me than the OG worldtimers with cloisonné dials. Huate technique but they come across as a little cartoonish to me.
The PO is a pretty big and thick watch, but that is a PO. The price, at over $16k, is aspirational, but that has been Omega's MO for quite a while. They are trying to surf in the wake of Rolex. I do love their watches, though.
Of the more monotone Omega versions, I like the titanium AT version better, I think the world map looks more interesting but it lacks the honeycomb detail of the PO which I think is cool.

That is a great looking watch.

Hadn’t seen that yet, thanks for sharing. Not sure if I like it more than the AT or not.
I think the Omega world timers are a great example of that complication, and would be open to getting one someday. A big reason being my personal preference for having “Chicago” instead of “Mexico [City]”
ETA: just saw a video of the new PO that showed the watch in profile. It’s quite a chonker, 17.4mm thick. I don’t think it will end up on my wishlist.

New to me Montbrillant Datora

Been thinking about a Breitling Chronomat B01 for a while but have not pulled the trigger. My small collection is currently filled with Omegas and a couple of Tags. Anybody have one of these and any opinions on accuracy?

JLC Master Compressor Navy SEALs diver. It is on the OE leather and Cordura strap. One of the reasons I bought the watch was the great rubber coated bracelet but ordered the strap and deployant when I ordered the watch. Somehow over the years I never sized the bracelet because I love the strao so much...

That is a damn fine looking Resist Pogue!! Is it a 6005 or a 6002?
Posted on 3/14/25 at 10:44 am to oatmeal
I have to admit I was hoping it was a 6005, but it is still an incredible example of an early Pouge with family provenance to boot. I am curious if your grandfather knew the story of the stowaway space watch.

i'm sure he knew, but he died in '91. i inherited the watch and just got it serviced etc. i'll admit, the gold and silver tones at first kinda clashed, but now i really love it. thanks for your interest and knowledge.
