The Omega in that pic is one of the USSS "unit" watches they had Omega do a couple of years back. The case back has the USSS star and the words "Worthy of Trust and Confidence" around the perimeter. After last weeks event, you can make of that what you want. My buddy is a SA and has one. I have photos of it on my phone.

I really like this watch, it reminds me of a 41mm 6105-8000 case with a white dial. The 8000 wears so much better than the larger 8110. I love the second hand. I have always called them signal second hands but never hear anyone else call them that and I don't know whether I picked it up somewhere or just made it up.

Just bought one of the limited blue ones. Really surprised how nice it is for the price point.

It’s a great watch in a great size with a not great movement. I’ve had it regulated, but it still won’t stay consistent. I like the size so much that I had a custom blue dial built, but the crystal ain’t great, so I’ll probably have it replaced. I think most Seiko fans call the second hand a stoplight. Here’s my custom 6105-8000 and my custom Willard. Not great lighting.

The navy blue sunburst dial, or the blue with tan arabic markers?

Either way, great watch.

I agree these are high value watches. If you rewind 5 years they were 400-500 less than they are now, which is hard to imagine.

So my dad took his Explorer II to the AD in Shreveport for service (Clarks I believe). Currently they have a 41mm datejust and a yellow gold sub in stock. They said by next year they anticipate having anything you want. TIFWIW.

I believe it. Watch market is in a slow decline month by month. It’s not going to ‘crash’ it will be a steady decline to the bottom. Lot of secondary market dealers are sitting on a lot of inventory they way overpaid for and most won’t even buy anything now. Many are doing consignment only.

This was Clark's jewelers in Shreveport. A young lady met them at the door, they had another greeter inside, and the store manager took my dad's watch service order. She then showed them the display models and talked with them about watches for a good long while. They left with the manager's business card and a glossy Rolex catalog. Seems like the snobbish AD rumors are overblown, at least in Shreveport.

Monochrome and simple 36 mm 124270 Explorer I. This is a brand spanking new addition and the second iteration of the Explorer line for me, the first being the now discontinued and short lived 39 mm 214270 (Mk II dial version).

The 124270 version has several things that made me want to own it including additon of AR to underside of the sapphire glass, the new cal 3230 with upgraded 70h power reserve and better anti-shock and anti-magnetism qualities and the slimmed down 19 mm lug width bracelet with more pronounced taper, not to mention going back to its roots with the iconinc (and for my taste correct) 36 mm sizing. I also am a fan of the chromaLight (cyan blue) lume over the green super luminova which was used in the most recent previous model 36 mm 114270.

Still with the Explorer, bought it from an out ot the blue caller from the AD a couple of weeks ago with the idea it would be a good daily, and it has been. Call from the same AD yesterday to come check out the 136668LB and that it is for sale. Not even remotely what I go for, so I passed on buying, but the heft on that thing is impressive.

I've tried to like AP but I just don't. Same with Patek Nautilus/Aquanaut. The design just looks meh.
