They just want her to be a yestergay. Is that so bad?
Thank you to Its Always Sunny for the yestergay reference.

What is the legal responsibility for someone starting a gofundme account? I mean can you just make up or exaggerate a story and say send me your monies without any repercussions?
This particular story says significant legal bill, but seems that it was handled quickly without much fight. The remaining will go towards Sara and college. Ok. Post the legal bill. Bet it was under 6k.

a while. Some of these church camps are insane. They are brainwashing centers. Pretty fricked up and abusive if you ask me. If I were a child in that position I would probably disappear and never see my family again after I turned 18.

It's truly unbelievable that we live in the age of iPhones and self-driving cars, and yet there are still parents sending their children to gay camp.

put together a GoFundMe page that has raised more than $39,000 that will go toward legal expenses incurred in the fight to rescue the teen from the facility.
$100K?
Please, I need $100K or I'll send myself to a re-education camp.
Help!

Here's my take on this. Some people are born homosexual, and it's more than foolish to try to "pray the gay away", it's psychological abuse.
Some people have psychological problems, of various types, some serious, some not. Our sexuality is a major part of who were are, so it is certainly to be expected that sexual identity will be all intertwined in a psychological problem. Nevertheless, these people need counseling to help sort this out, not brain washing it away.
However, there is an overarching theme of over-sexualization in our society that places too much emphasis on sex, sexual identity, mixed with some righteous indignation in favor of this designated "victim class". If the religious "treatment center's" focus is to deemphasize sexual identity so that a person's full identity and purpose in life comes into focus, then there is certainly a role for such treatment.
Lots of factors are in play. The age of the person, the presenting situation (is the person over-sexualized), any history of sexual abuse, the true intentions of the parents, the type and purpose of the therapy, etc.
It's entirely possible that SJW types have distorted the facts of this situation to support a false narrative, and it's equally possible that the parents are religious fanatics who are causing real paychogical harm to an innocent girl who happens to be gay.

People start a GoFundMe for literally everything.
I saw a guy who started a GoFundMe to pay for his divorce. He is needing $500....
Don't ask him to sell his motorcycle though.

People have given 39K for this?

Correct me if I'm wrong but I think when you put your child in a boarding school, you have to give them equivalent parental rights (so they can make medical decisions, etc). Meaning they absolutely could restrain her.

Not making a judgement on being gay, but this has scam written all over it. Yeah lets see what "bills get paid" and "how much ends up in a trust fund".

Phenomenal post.
You and I would get along great. Not in a gay way. Just a bromance way.
