I have a 2017 Tesla 100D I bought new. It has free supercharging for life. Sounds bad. But it’s not my problem that comes from coal and natural gas

Yeah you’re above it all, LOL.
Above all of what?

You think EV’s are gonna solve that problem?
They are quite obviously a necessary step if the goal is to burn less shite. I don't know how you could disagree.

I don’t believe this at all.

EVs are a must. It’s like the covid shot. The most important thing to do this summer is to drive an EV and get a covid shot?

Agreed. If we get to a point where EVs are better than gas powered vehicles in every way then you won't have to pay people to buy them as long as they are comparably priced.

I’m not saying the government is better but let’s not pretend consumers are super rational either

Unless people are willing to allow more nuclear power plants, that’s going to remain an unfulfilling wet dream.

The biggest surprise to me in this article was finding out that Alaska has the highest percentage of renewable energy usage in the continental US. What kind of renewables are those, I wonder?

Solar…the extremes of being that far up the globe mean you can have endless solar power in the summer when the days are long, but good luck in the winter with those solar panels when the nights are long and the sun barely gets above the horizon.

Just kidding about solar, 90% Alaska’s renewables come from hydroelectric power. It pays to have hills and mountains where you can capture the power of gravity with water.
