There are some ridiculous, backward thinking Neanderthals on this board.
When your kid is born, your response will be, “fricking useless kid. What good is it? Gonna suck off the teat and cost me money! fricking worthless tpos kid. Can’t even walk. Never should have been born. It won’t ever develop into anything useful!”

If the people that are so cynical about Tesla and EVs, in general, have their way they will be the ones 20 years from now that complaining about China being the center of world car production. It is easy to dislike Musk but he is paving the way to push the US back to the top of an industry that is a (the?) major prime mover in the world economy.

do you normally curse tech companies when they improve functionality of your computer or phone through software? As far as throttling functionality they have no profit motive to hold back on braking capacity. It was likely a re-calibration of software to use existing hardware.
Throttling performance and capacity is standard in the tech industry. It allows standardization of the products built, cheaper upgrades/expansions because the physical bits are already onsite, and "pay for what you use" business models. Remember, Tesla is a tech company.

It would be cool if in the future you could simply swap out all of some of your batteries for fully charged batteries. In theory it could be as fast or faster than pumping gas. I suppose it’s unlikely that the govt will mandate universal batteries, but that would help get some people over the hunp of worrying about the life of their batteries and the massive cost of replacement.

Swapping batteries was my initial thought as well. Create a standard and so on but apparently these companies have figured out how to use the batteries as part of the vehicles' structure which makes it pretty unfeasible unless it's just part of the battery capacity that is swappable.

That is already in existence. In China...
NIO has battery swap stations (they call them Power Swap Stations) that swap batteries in 3 minutes and are fully automated. They opened about 10 along a 1300m stretch of freeway and in other areas last year. They also have mobile charging vans but that is a stop gap until more charging stations are up and running and owners adjust to thinking about "filling up" in a different way. NIO is one of the smaller Chinese EV companies but the owner thinks more like Musk than the larger companies.
Besides boring "transportation cars" NIO has built a halo as well. The NIO EP9 held the Nurburgring lap record for a while with a 7:45 which sits right between the Lamborghini LP-770-4 SVJ and the 911 GT2RS the top two production street legal cars ever on the 'Ring.

That's the classic chicken vs egg conundrum. There aren't many charging stations in AR like most low population density areas. People with Teslas in these areas make do with home charging which covers the needs of the vast majority of people the vast majority of the time. If you live in Greenville AR and are the type of person that needs to fill their gas tank 5 times a week or more a Tesla isn't currently very practical. However, we are much farther along in electricity distribution than we were with fuel distribution at the dawn of the IC vehicle days.

That said, several other companies are building charge stations, and more and more public places (airports, malls, hotels, restaurants, etc) are installing them, many of which you can use for free while you shop/sleep/eat/whatever. Arkansas has hundreds of these, if not thousands.
Not to mention every single building with electric service, so pretty much all of them, can potentially charge your car. Most charging takes place at the owner's home, anyway, so every morning you have a full battery.
How many days out of the year do you drive more than 200 miles without stopping somewhere for a while?
