they are trying to get away from ISIS

allegedly

there are reports that a huge % of those fleeing are not from syria (and the logistics back this up)

also, the "refugees" are disproportionately adult males, which means they've leaving their women and children behind

it is what it is

i don't even care that much at this point but shite like the manufactured bullshite at missouri this week and all the other pieces of shite that blames those who work to support the safety net for the bad decisions (and status accordingly) of bad decision makers gets me going

You're not giving us the full picture. Now give us the demographics of New Orleans and Paris. While you're at it, give us the demographics for top ten cities with the most murders in the United States.

quote:

New Orleans: 39.61 murders per 100,000 people. Paris: 1.0 murders per 100,000 people *not including these attacks, obviously

Which, as you said, would have occurred regardless of what the gun policy was. What does that tell you? Think about it.

So, you're agreeing with me now after saying I was very wrong? My statement is that taking guns away and putting up a gun free zone sign doesn't mean jack shite. Until you prove otherwise (and don't use hypotheticals please as they are both useless, and well, hypothetical) I will stick with my belief that evil exists and signage/policy won't do much in terms of preventing it.

The worst part is that nothing we pay for in the US even works well. I'm sorry you work so hard for other people man. I'm just starting to get that and it sucks arse.

Yeah, I wouldn't mind paying the high tax rate if we got anything for it.

All we get is free cell phones for the "poor"

I actually did not agree with you. But I'll let you sort that one out yourself. I've moved on.

I am self employed so I pay the employee and employer FICA, so guess again. I pay a self employed transit tax and we haven't looked at property tax.

not really, when you factor in the highest tax bracket + the additional medicare tax+ net investment income tax+ state income tax people can very easily find themselves in the 50% range boss

the additional medicare and NII tax don't hit everyone but for high end tax payers it sure does.

add in state income tax and sales tax and it's going to hit that status with room to spare in all likelihood

I am too and end up paying in the 30s, you aren't getting over 50% though. If you want to break it down and prove it I'll check it out but it's not gonna happen.
