The woman who called about the protesters went out of her house with a rifle, and got arrested for inciting a riot.
That happened today.

Just heard on wwl that there are armed protesters on site of the shooting. Is this true?
My detail officers were in for lunch today and said that some cars got shot up. Just some rioting contained to the neighborhood involving the incident mentioned above.

Deputy kills burglar. That's all I need to know. Don't care if "burglar" is white, black, 15 yrs old or 150yrs old.
I wish they would shoot and kill all burglars. If I catch someone stealing from me - I shoot to kill.
Hats off to the amazing deputy!!

Residents gather for a vigil in memory of Cameron Tillman tonight at the vacant home where he was fatally shot Tuesday on Kirkglen Loop in the Village East neighborhood in Houma.
Terrebonne Parish Sheriff Jerry Larpenter has called the shooting death of a Houma teenager by a one of his deputies a “freak accident.”
Ellender High School freshman Cameron Tillman, 14, was shot at shortly before 6 p.m. Tuesday at an abandoned house on Kirkglen Loop in the Village East neighborhood outside of Houma.
Larpenter claims the unnamed deputy “feared for his life” when Tillman opened the door to the home with a BB gun pointed in the lawman's direction.
Tillman was hit four times in the front part of his body, Larpenter said.
“I don't think he knew police officers were there. I think he was expecting to open the door to his friends,” Larpenter said. “My personal opinion, I think it was a freak accident, and I think the evidence will show that. I think it is a tragedy with this young man who I heard nothing but good things about.”
There were at least four other teens in the home. Their families dispute Larpenter's account, saying Tillman was not holding a B.B. gun when he opened the door.
quote:
Larpenter said the two deputies were responding to a report of people with weapons entering the home. He said the deputies parked a few houses down and walked over to the house
quote:
They looked an saw there was no police outside the door and they assumed that was their friends,” Larpenter said. “The deputies were going there thinking they were going to catch someone with weapons at the house.”
The family has stated they intend to challenge police's handling of the situation through the legal system.

Wasn't the house abandoned? So it's more like deputy kills trespasser?

The deceased was carrying a BB gun.
Game changer. Needless to say, some will be changing their tune. Or disappearing from the thread altogether.
