She is an old lady, and I have work super early in the morning. I had just gotten my kids to bed and got in bed myself when there is a frantic banging on the door.

I don’t know what she wanted me to do about it

Came home to them in one room with a window unit. Cracks in window. Taped it up. Anyway to get them away other than lights off

had been out of town for a while and come home to a huge swarm tonight... new here and not familiar with this, they just swarm over entire areas without necessarily having a colony in your house?

Not me, that's from a structural inspection for a new dental office. Just got a call on the weekend that they exposed more wood and found more damage so gotta head back out this week.

I don't know what this building originally was (early 1900s) but it was all wood framing but has been supplemented with a good bit of steel over the years and I wouldn't be surprised if it was all due to termite damage.

While that’s not good you’ll likely be murdered by juveniles before any serious structural issues so cheer up

Haha.

Went down there with the boss and ended up stopping by a church he condemned in not the best area. Told him that a tape measure and ladder are cool but he should have asked me to bring my gun.

Yes, and the goal is to keep it that way

Yes and the swarmers will get in your house. There's billions of the frickers probing your house for a way in, so it's going to happen. Get your hand vac ready in the morning.

Oh and congrats on your new "Is my house infested? " anxiety you'll experience around mothers day every year.

So no spray or anything to keep them away? Taped around window seal. Turned off lights. That should work I hope

Nothing you can do besides try to keep lights down to a minimum. Just wait to vacuum inside your house until it’s done. This will typically only last 5-7 days down here.

Yep. Freaked me the frick out the first summer we were in our home about 10 years ago. Woke up and found them crawling on the bedroom walls and piled up in bathroom. Called our pest control people the next day and they talked me down from the ledge

Probably among the best instances of completely free marketing.
