Seems like BR is on a roll for wasting money and failing at programs they implement.

Geaux BR lets spend those tax dollars wrecklessly.

I love it a city of disfunction on a roll.

During a meeting last week, some ambassadors said it feels like they're arguing over trivial details and not accomplishing anything. They also questioned whether the low attendance on Tuesday could indicate that some of the group's members aren't as committed as they should be.

Looks like they took the small amount of money they received for doing this and ran laughing to the corner liquor store or friendly neighborhood drug dealer.

This is supposed to be like the sanctuary — the safe room," Wicker told participants at the meeting Tuesday. "If people are not having conversations effectively out there, they should be able to have effective conversations in here. … If we don't give each other the opportunity to value our differences and value the way we communicate, then we don't really move forward."

Ahh, safe room will bring out the snitches.

I love it BR blowing through money on failed programs at the tax payers expense point at proponents of St George saying they cannot run a city.

Is it Priceless or a preview of the Mayor coming up with another tax proposal to pay for throwing money at another failed program.

Geaux disfunction sorry I mean BR!!!!!!

Too many chefs wanting to use their recipe. Failed premise before it began.

You are correct.
They also paid people before the work was done and the program has no accountability.

Don’t worry BRAC and BRAF will want a study suggesting a group that kicks back money to them for $3 million gets the contract. Then they will suggest a property tax to put on the ballot during a low voter turnout for this program.

BRAF and BRAC will even bring in the COA President and present board in to help make sure the funds are spent.

Woah woah woah, a group of people can't find organization...it's almost like this position lends itself to people who have a problem with authority.

Wicker proposed that the group host an event focused on "real talk" about race and invite the public to join in the discussion. She said ambassadors are planning to participate in implicit bias training and a citizens' police academy. In the meantime they'll also coordinate with Baton Rouge police and get involved in some of the department's summer outreach events.

Is that the class where they teach that all whites are racist?

And next we will have “community activists “ begging for money on some peepsagram.

Some members of the OT will feel the need to give the dumbasses attention. Cycle goes on.

Until people paying taxes say that’s enough when voting the bullshite will continue.

If you are receiving government assistance in any way, your voting rights should be discontinued.

This is actually a great idea. You don't help put tax dollars in, you don't get to decide where the tax dollars go. For instance, I am currently not a homeowner so I should have no say in a property tax.

It will never happen though because the left would blow a gasket.

I think he more meant people that use and abuse the system and do not contribute to the tax pool. Like I said, it will never happen but there are certain items (i.e. a property tax for instance) where certain people should not have a say in the vote.

That isn’t what he said though, his statement would include disabled veterans, Medicare recipients, TOPS scholars, etc. Probably hyperbole but who knows

I still stand by my premise of items, such as a property tax, should only be voted on by property owners. As a renter, I should not have a vote on additional money out of other citizens pockets since the tax does not affect me at all.

First senator or representative that runs on this will get my vote, no matter what other ideas he/she has.

I said what I meant. If you are on any form of government assistance and contribute nothing towards taxes you shouldn’t be able to vote.

If a person contributes in property taxes and not income tax then yes they should have a vote/voice.

I don’t care what form of assistance. I feel for veterans who sacrificed more than others and they should be be taken care of more than others. That is a different debate. If you served the military then you should have %100 health care and a pension.

The property tax is built in to your rent, silly. You’re paying it.

With all the corporate welfare, a lot of the wealthy wouldn't get to vote.

I do agree that it doesn't seem right for someone who lives primarily off the government to be able to vote.

Would you apply the same rule to government workers?

I am agreeing to pay a certain amount for a space. While yes any owner should include that in the rent, the tax comes out the pocket of the owner directly.

It doesn't really matter to me because I vote NO on every tax now-a-days.

Yes. It’s part of Broome’s “police reform.” What the hell is a citizen’s police academy? Crime has skyrocketed since Broome took office, yet she still insists on implementing a community policing program, despite the fact that the concept has proven to be a failure.

Ohhhh I could go off on TOPS parents. As a parent of an out state student, the TOPS parents are worse than welfare recipients.

The law is written so those kids xamount of money. If something changes and the kids get less these parents flip 500 kinds of shite.

I’ve seen it from multiple different ways. I chose to pay the extra money for my son to go to LSU on out of state tuition. That’s a discussion for another time.

I’m sorry that that the state government is so fricked up that it can’t keep promises. Stop voting for idiots to represent you.
