Tell the truth, do you ever hope your kid's team loses so you can get home?

You're a horrible father
Probably not your kid anyway

Nope, not for games
But I have been relieved when a weeknight practice is rained out on a busy week.

You show me someone that's doesn't mind losing and I'll show you a loser.

Coached ball for 15 years. Was in a tournament where we lost the first game and had to go through the losers bracket. Ended up playing 5 more games that day. It was a long day.

Nope.
Let the losers worry about losing.

There were some out of state Labor Day tournaments when I was hoping we would get sent home on Sunday after four games because I knew we weren’t getting past semis on Monday.

Usually no, but it has happened. We were 3 hours away and if we won our game we would rematch the team that beat us 11-0 (soccer) at 1pm the following day. If we lost we would play at 9. We had no shot a the title, so I was happy to win our 9a Sunday game and get home at a reasonable time Sunday

No but I do sit there the whole time hoping the game before us would hurry up and end.

If it’s early in the day maybe. If it’s mid-day might as well win the whole thing. If it’s late in the day, hell no, they have tried so hard and played well enough to advance I want them to win it all

Nope...nothing like winning and it is hard to do when you grow up. So if there is a chance of one more win, you take it. The kids love it and time is short with them at that age. Enjoy every second

Honestly no. I truly do enjoy baseball weekends.
The parents on the team are great so it’s a fun time out there.
Several of moms have their Stanley’s that have adult beverages in them and so it gets comical after a couple hours

The honest parents will admit that sometimes, perhaps oftentimes, they’d be perfectly happy if their own kid played well but the team lost. Travel ball is an immense time commitment and after a long week at work, sometimes a parent just wants to relax.
My daughter is out with a foot injury right now, so I was spared, but her softball team played last weekend in a tournament. Three games on Saturday spaced out over 10 hours. Then back to the ballpark for an 8am Sunday morning game. Win that game, and the next game would be at 1pm. So sitting around another four hours.
That’s basically the entire weekend esp after factoring in travel time. And you always have to arrive an hour before the first game. It’s a lot.

Basketball > Baseball
3 key reasons:
1. No rainouts or game delays
2. Usually 70 degrees in gym
3. 1 and 2 make pulling for other team closer to nil on a Sunday afternoon with a long drive home and early Mon morning mtg.

If they lose, it’s the refs fault. You should yell at them and say it was rigged and anyone who disagrees is a loser.
