There are no perks, hair grows in your ears and nose faster than your head. You eat half as much but can’t lose weight. Teeth turn brittle, and you hurt in places you didn’t know you had. Lot of Dr Visits. Good luck!

For the most part, you finally accept and embrace who you are. You outgrow the need to please others.

I’m 58 , married with kids and wonderful grandkids. I swear yesterday I was meeting my friends to play basketball, I sneeze and I’ve got people holding the door for me , Young people telling me I look like their grandpa I’ve had a couple health scares( the big “ C” ) the worst part about that is having to tell your family. I beat it though. Something new hurts every day lol

Less desire to frick anything with the trifecta of a pulse, bobs and vagene. Better sleep. Less inclination to do stupid shite. I’m 43.

The surprising one for me was you can appreciate beauty in older women.

Twenty years old me thought 50 year olds were hags. Now it's much more, "Oh yeah!"

That I can clearly see the light at the end of the tunnel when I can retire and tell 90% of the people in charge of public education at the district and state level in Louisiana that they're fricking morons.

shite, might do that tomorrow.

as you get older, you realize the difference between needs and wants. I need a new roof and I want LSU football season tickets. Hello new roof and where is the TV.

There are no perks these days ... except the money. Oh, and trying to outlive everyone of your peers.

Getting old ain't for sissies.

The older I get the more I conclude I do not give a frick what other people think, do or say. That being the case I do not give a frick what I say or do...if someone does not like it they can kiss my old arse. Its pretty damned liberating.

The older I get the more I realize I am not going to become rich and powerful, especially through hard work and effort. I can, however, make a damned good living and if doing so becomes to tedious I can tell them to kiss my rosey red buttocks and move on without any financial difficulties. That is about as free as freedom gets in the world.

The older I get the more confident I become that I make pretty good decisions, there is not much of anything I would like to do that I can't do and haven't done, and life is pretty damned sweet even if it is sitting on the back porch watching a cat stalk a bird. I am as happy sitting by a campfire on a lake 15 minutes from the house as I have ever been in Paris or London or Tokyo....nothing wrong with any of those but Appling, Georgia is as enjoyable without the damned hassle.

The biggest benefit is not being driven by sex. Seriously, young men will never understand this but sex causes men to put up with a bunch of shite and do things we would prefer not doing. It is a transition that is not without peril....many men and women both realize their libido is slowing down and panic and act like an idiot to recapture what they visualize was their glory days when in fact they weren't all that glorious. The result of this transition is a far more meaningful relationship with your spouse, if you haven't managed to run her off acting a fool, with less sex but better sex and waaaaaaaayyyyyyyyy less bullshite from her or you. The transition is not easy...it causes problems, but if you emerge from it intact you will find you have a relationship based on mutual respect and history and not jockeying for sex. I have been told by single men that this turn of events is even more liberating because they no longer spend an inordinate amount of time trying to get laid and their success rate is about the same LOL.

I'm 64. I have more money than I've ever had too, and much fewer expenses.

Paid off the forever house two years ago. That felt real good.

I'll probably work several more years just because I love my job, but I enjoy just being able to spend time with my wife with the occasional trip to visit family.

I've felt more at peace the past 6 months than ever before.

This is me, too.

I feel like I'm 15 again. Horny as hell and full of energy.

Sometimes I even act like I'm 15.
