Tell me if I'm justifiably pissed off by this...

1. I had a $250 gift certificate to Nordstrom Rack that was gifted to me.

2. I spend $450 total online to buy clothes ($200 of own money).

3. A sports coat/blazer that was included in the order was $185 (great deal too, 50% off).

4. It was too small, so I needed one size up. They told me on the phone they don’t do exchanges so I had to buy another one and just return the first one and the return will be “credited to your account”.

5. I buy a new one for $185 and it fits great. I then get email saying return was received and approved and they are sending me a new gift card with that balance because the original order total was a majority paid for by gift card.

This infuriates me. For one, I spent more of my own money than the total cost of the jacket on the original order ($185/$200). Secondly, it is their fricking fault they don’t do exchanges for new sizes. I am now out $385 of my own money instead of $200. I don’t need $185 worth of more shite from Nordstrom Rack (but I’m sure I’ll manage), I’d rather have that to pay my damn cable bill or something.

Anyways, that is my 1st world problem of the day. I know it's not a lot of money, but it is the principle of the matter.

I'll be fine without the money and I'm sure would eventually spend that there in the next 6 months anyway

It just pissed me off how they handled it.

Was the original order NOT paid with a gift card??? I don’t see the problem.

Majority was, but I spent $200 on top of it, which was more than the coat.

And they don't do exchanges so I had to buy another one outright without a gift card obviously and then they credited the gift card for the money.

Return the 2nd one for a refund then re-order with the gift card.

People are going to give you a hard time but I agree with you. Have you tried calling and speaking to someone in management? Maybe they can help. If they refuse then save that gift card for the next time you need something, they aren’t allowed to expire anymore. Eventually you will get your moneys worth.

I did not think of this!

But I'm not sure I can. It's been close to the return day limit and I've worn it a bunch and already had it dry cleaned.

Oh I talked to them and they refused.

Its obviously not worth fighting anymore because its not a lot of money, but I felt like venting anonymously.

I'll definitely use the money there, but they're just forcing me too and it rubbed me the wrong way
