I feel for metro areas of 500,000 to a 1,000,000 the cities in this part of the country are great. Tulsa is pretty nice for a big city, and several nice suburbs as well. OKC and Tulsa would both be high on my list if looking to move in an area this size.

I haven't been to Tulsa or OKC in over 5 years and I live in Oklahoma.

Of the two, I guess I'd pick Tulsa for restaurants and closer to better fishing but OKC has better hardwood suppliers.

Lived there a bit.. oil industry..

I found it an excellent place to live.. friendly people .. respectful and helpful shoppers and workers in the stores.. some bad traffic but street set up in nice grid so can get around..
Schools were very good … we were in Jenks .. if I stayed I would have bought in the historic area after I was making more money.. has a Nola feel..

I know lots of coworkers that got transferred there and never wanted to leave.. sime actually quit when transferred and found a company there to work for..

If you want to raise a family in a nice environment I give it a big yes.. single life not as much..

Went through there once when my parents were moving to Enid Okla. from Florida. Stopped at a dinner for food and I wanted to order two hamburgers, but the waitress said one would be enough. The hamburger was friggin' huge.

I lived there two different times over 7 years. My oldest daughter was born there and I’ve lived a couple of places in the Midwest and every corner of Louisiana. I’ll likely retire in Tulsa.

Very conservative and low cost of living. Not as major city but has everything you’ll need. Look at the replies in this thread, anyone who has lived there liked it and anyone who doesn’t like it, hasn’t lived there.

Jenks, Bixby, Owasso and Broken Arrow are good suburbs, but Jenks and Bixby are the two best.

Tulsa is very segregated, so any image you relate to cop shows is isolated to North and East Tulsa.

Yes please keep pushing that narrative. Keep it under populated. Let everyone keep overcrowding Texas and leave Oklahoma undiscovered.

Not pushing any agenda, there was a reason the US Government chose Oklahoma over every other state.

I had some very beautiful neighborhoods. The city is laid out in grid form so it's very easy to navigate. It also has changed in elevation and seasons. I like it.

Do you even history?

It wasn’t a state for another 50+ years. It was a territory. They chose it because at the time it was remote and unsettled.

If you have to live in OK I’d live there. Much better than OKC and closer to Ozarks and big cities like Wichita and KC.

Lived there from 2003-2013 and loved it. Great size city. You can be anywhere in 10 minutes, still big enough to have art museums, big concerts, good bars and restaurants.
