IP in the engineering world actually means "ingress protection", which if you think about it really doesn't work very well if you have an anniversary getaway weekend planned...

The IP closed down in Vegas. I think it’s the Linq now.

Take her to the Bay Towne Inn or Hotel Whiskey, or another boutique inn on the coast. Eat away from trashy people and take her to shops like she wants.

About Iberville Parish
Iberville was “discovered” by French explorer Pierre LeMoyne, Sieur d’Iberville in 1699, but its rich delta soil and many waterways had been discovered by Indian tribes long before Iberville ever set foot here. While it was initially an agricultural area, Iberville has changed through the centuries to accommodate the changing times. The parish has always had plenty of sugarcane and soybean fields, but through the years the hardwood timber industry, river commerce and now industrial development have been essential to a thriving parish economy.
From the 1800s until the mid-1900s, Louisiana produced more sugar than any other state in the nation, and Iberville, as the state’s leading sugarcane producer, drew the name “Sweet Iberville.” By the late 1800s Bayou Plaquemine, running through the heart of Iberville, became the most common route from the Mississippi River into the interior of Louisiana, and this water traffic brought a boom in the parish’s timber and sawmill industries and a variety of commercial establishments catering to travelers. It also resulted in the construction of the historic Plaquemine Lock.
With the agricultural, timber, sawmill, and water commerce industries powering the economy, Iberville prospered into the 1960s, when the Lock was finally closed, replaced by a bigger structure closer to Baton Rouge. But by this time the chemical industry had realized the many advantages that Iberville offered with its access to the Mississippi River, interstate travel, electrical power and hard-working people. Today, the chemical and agriculture industries power the economy, and exist in harmony with the tourism industry.

It depends on what you are going for. If you like to play table games, IP will be cheaper than the Beau and actually pays better odds on certain games. Food is definitely better at the Beau but also more expensive, same with rooms. If you plan to casino hop, I would stay at the Beau or Hard Rock.

Also, plan your trip accordingly. Be aware that if you are going on the weekend, prepare to pay a premium for a weekend room verses a weekday room.
Weekday rooms are almost given away. If there was more time, I would say make a day trip and sign up for a few of the players club cards and you will get those rooms and even free tickets to shows given to you for a weekday and weekend if you are a high roller.
I never really liked IP because of the location and access to other properties. Once you get off on 110 you have to use the surface streets to get to the Beau and other casinos.

Go to the Beau. Less trashy. Could fool yourself and think you are in Vegas based on the lobby which is similar to Bellagio.
All the snow birds in jorts and tank tops really give you a sense of place.

I went some years back. Overall D experience. I went with some friends. I am not a big gambler, but I like to drink. Me and a buddy were sitting at the “sports” bar doing shots. I mean we did a lot. No big deal.
My friend and his old lady come join us after playing a little slots. She does 2 shots real quick. No one is acting crazy. Phone call comes in that she is to be cut off. Complete dick move. We ended up leaving.
Fast forward to the next night. I’m in that bar with the fancy blue top. I am shite house. I get kicked out of the casino. They tried to throw me out the whole place, but we were staying there. Funny thing is I would walk away for a minute then try to walk back in with a crowd hoping they wouldn’t see me. I got caught doing this twice. I went up and passed out in the room.
