Was only downtown, right after 9/11. I loved it, it took a while before the people I met at 5AM became friendly, but they did.

No no no. That place is strange and incestuous. Lived there for three years.

Pittsburgh is a cool city. Comparing it to Philly is like comparing North and South Louisiana. It's a completely different culture.

Lived in Montgomery County and worked in Norristown (home of the Bill Cosby trial) for 7 years and I loved it.
My attitude when I moved up there was: "Do it...you can always move back home." It was the best decision I have ever made.

I'll give you just a random incident. I was watching an Ole Miss game there at a bar and my girlfriend at the time came up to visit me. There are 3 guys with Eagles shirts sitting beside us with a guy with a Miami Jersey sitting between them.
While the Ole Miss game is going on, Miami vs Florida State is also happening. Seeing as I hate Florida State, especially since rapist Jameis Winston was playing for them at the time, I politely said "go Miami". The Eagles fan asks me if I went to Miami, and I said I went to Ole Miss. He then responds that Ole Miss is a fricking pussy school and to go frick myself.
Florida State then scores a touchdown, and the Miami fan starts talking shite about us going out to the fricking parking lot to fight since I jinxed them. I thought they lost their minds and they start talking shite deliberately to my girlfriend. We move down the bar but they keep on talking shite all night.
That's what kind of crazy people live in Philly. The Eagles fans did not disappoint at all for being largely shitty people.

And one of them is always under construction. I loved my 3 months in Pittsburgh. They are basically friendly Midwestern folk. I could definitely live there. I'd be fine if I never spend another night in Philly again.

Yeah, I had all of Pennsylvania as my sales territory. It's amazing how much better that State gets the more west you go. The southeast part of PA is a fricking armpit filled with nothing but assholes.
Pittsburgh though, nothing but nice people. Just wonderful people to be around. Best city in the Rust Belt bar none.

Having lived in both NOLA and Philly, I assure you that the people are way shittier up there.

Philly is in my top 5 least favorite cities that I've been to in the US. I've been to 42 states so there's a fairly large sample size. Not everyone likes soda taxes and rude Northeastern liberals. As a SJW, you'd probably fit right in. You should move there.

Sounds like you got out of line and they put you back in line. They probably had sex with your girlfriend too.
Go EAGLES!!!

There is a bohemian culture near penn.
Its hour drive to ski, two hours to beach.
Every sport pro team.
They have 4 seasons and winter is rarely impressive.
Far enough inland to miss hurricanes.
Serious thunderstorms. Very few tornados.
Very few blizzards.
