that's sad. and what a downgrade in breeds. eloquent greyhound for 2 shitdoodles? no thanks.
i won't act like i know who is to blame there, but i will say that greyhounds generally need to be warmed up to new people. ours is incredibly good and calm around children. my fiance's young nieces used to try to ride her like a horse. she of course didn't like that. but never showed an ounce of aggression towards them. but i wouldn't let my child near a greyhound that wasn't familiar with them. nor would i put my greyhound in that situation.
i will say however they are very very food aggressive. if there is kibble in their bowl, they will not let any other dog or person they don't know get near it. the whole living in a kennel thing for the first few months of their lives gives them a lot of really strange habits. did i mention, a lot of them tend to pick up the habit of eating their own shite from time to time?

A relative adopted a retired greyhound. She was very calm and spent most of the day laying around as most dogs do, but would also play with the kids and run the yard.
She had problems with arthritis later in life.

Girl down the street from me has one. Great dog. Extremely docile and friendly to others (people and dogs). She said he just lays around all day while at the house.

I think they're beautiful dogs.
Like most other hound dogs they rest for 85% of the day, maybe even more with greyhounds because of their training.
There are thousands of greyhounds out there who need adopting.

My step grandmother had one of these, and it was the shittiest dog I've ever seen that pissed all over the place. The first manner of business after she died was getting that dog euthanized since no one was going to take it.

I have no experience with greyhounds but the Mobile Greyhound Park announced yesterday that it is ending live greyhound racing at end of the month and have greyhounds available for adoption if you're interested:

I have owned a retired racing Greyhound for about 5 years. Lots of good posts in here about the breed.
They are awesome dogs and great pets. You will be glad you got one and I would like to get a another.

Had friends that had one and they have to be put on a special diet. That is pretty much all I know about them.
