Big B doughnuts make a great kolache.

The closest decent restaurant is in Sulphur.

If you like the ponies the racetrack in vinton is 10 minutes away.

Beaumont sucks don't even bother with it.

You can hang out with MS13 in port Arthur only 15 minutes away.

Kids from Little Cypress have lots of drugs.

Vidor chicks are whores.

It has a weiner schnitzel.

Make friends with somebody with a boat and go to Sabine pass on your off days.

That's about it

THIS. I worked in Port Arthur at Motiva for a few years and I would end up in Houston, LC, or BR on most weekends. It was great for hunting and fishing, season permitting, but I didnt have any good connections then.

ETA: I didnt mess with Vidor chicks but had a cougar from Hamshire and a few daddys girls from West Brook bark up my tree.

not much in Orange, except plant work and the rail road.

There is the Lutcher Theater, which is nice.

Not true. Old Orange Cafe is as good a lunch spot as any between (but not including) Lafayette and Houston. Fuzzy's Taco's is a decent place to watch a game, eat a taco, and have a beer.

How old are you? I'm 22 and I've had some fun in Beaumont. I went to 2 concerts at Whiskey River in Beaumont as well over the summer that I enjoyed.

Madison's was my favorite nightlife place in Beaumont. Wasn't extremely observant of the age group there, so I don't know how you would feel as a 28 year old. I did not feel out of place being 22 though.

Nice. Which plant are you going to be working at?

ETA: I went to Randy Rogers concert down off Crawford St in Beaumont when I was working over there. It was a decent spot (dont remember the bar name), but outside of maybe 3 or 4 bars, the downtown area was absolutely dead. This was 2009ish.

Just visit the Whataburger on MacArthur... you're welcome.

Or you can just do what some locals do and hop off and on trains that go through town.

depends, if you want things to do, yes stay in LC. But working twelve hours and then having to drive 45 min to and from the plant everyday gets old quick.

what plant are you working at? I will be making the drive as I have a couple projects in dupont coming up.
