I visited my ex there ONCE. it was pretty bad. Everyone I met was ready to GTFO. There is not much to do, pretty sure they had a movie theater and a bowling alley, other than that nothing. Even the grocery stores I went to blew balls. And I couldn't deal with the dry dusty landscape.

Dry dusty balls need blowing too.

Really depends on whether you are there with a boom which partially masks the utter depression of the place. Dated a chick from there and I hated visiting it.

Midland-Odessa must truly be a shithole.

The best thing anyone could say about is was 'well, it's only an hour and a half from Lubbock.'

What are the critical pros/cons to them?

Pro--Southwest Airlines flies into Midland/Odessa (as does American Eagle). So you have a couple of options.

Con--Despite only two gates and one baggage claim (which loads right outside the wall next to the gates), somehow it takes 30 minutes for your bags to show up on the carousel.
