Houma loves it's chain restaurants. I've heard multiple people in that town refer to Olive Garden as "authentic"

I lived there for 18 months. I lived on MLK Jr Blvd, which unlike other streets with the same name across the county, is actually really nice. All the shopping centers are right there. The only problem is the lack of red lights. Good luck turning left, its a ten minute wait every time.

I can somewhat agree, just a bad example given the much loved way more authentic Italian restaurants downtown.
As for the popularity of chain restaurants, they’re still relatively new to the area, growing up the only 2 I can remember were Bonanza and Sizzler, so the explosion in the last 10 to 20 years is still a novelty. Still some great mom and pop’s though.

Dated multiple women from Houma. All were DTF very early on.
