Don't do anything. Most of us have gotten through it just fine and in my personal experience, my parents made it worse by always wanting to talk about it. That was 50 years ago and I know that it was the same 50 years earlier and 50 years earlier than that. Hearts get broken. Hearts heal. Leave her alone unless she wants something.

Oh I can when she’s about to do that.
She hasn't started yet?

I'm the grandpa of a 14 and 15 yr old. They both have started.

Tell her he was likely a loser and would have only held her down.

If it was her fault, tell her it was her fault

If she deserves better, tell her she deserves better

But NEVER avoid telling your daughter it was her fault if it applies

Real answer: (not THE real answer, just A real answer - it might help, really)

Introduce her to the best breakup song in the history of the known universe:
(English translation in the CC)

Tell her she will probably be broken hearted a time or two before she finds the one. Tell her it’s part of life and it helps you reflect and come out a better person. Tell her yall are there for her, but time heals all wounds and the mind is the most powerful thing in existence. Don’t speak negatively about the guy, it won’t do anything but make her feel worse and stupid.

This! Raising a teen now and have been thru this a few times. Will only add to Let her know that no matter how many relationships may fall apart that Mom and Dad's relationship will always be there to get her thru it.

Tell her the age old adage of:
To get over someone, you have to go get under someone else

Make her watch Ol Yeller then berate her for crying over some freshman douche when Travis had to deal with capping his dog.

How about letting her figure out how to navigate life on her own cognizance some? Tell her you are there if she needs to talk, but other than that leave her alone.

That’s always been the strategy you’ve employed with your boyfriends, right?
