As an FYI, this is only "Tesla style" in size, not functionality.

what stuff does a f150 need to monitor like a tesla has to monitor batteries and stuff. I mean Tesla designed the car around that. so yea i wouldnt expect the aftermarket to be the brain of the truck, but if it can act like a tablet that controls ac and stuff then that is a win.

Agreed, just was pointing out that the Tesla style really only pertained to the size of the screen.

I like a 6-7" touchscreen, and I like it well-integrated into the dash, not sticking out like a velcro-mounted computer monitor.

I bought an f150 in 2013. I was shocked how far behind the toyota and nissan truck electronics were.

Toyota’s fall apart as soon as you leave the lot.

I’ve been very underwhelmed when looking how brands like Infinity and Toyota seem so far behind as are some trucks.

I need my car to have Nav, Bluetooth, and XM capabilities.

All the other shite is too busy. Its actually one of the things i love about my 4runner. Simple easy to use screen without a bunch of bloat.

The last one I had started having problems 300,000 miles after I left the lot.

The big screens are a distraction for the most part. The screen really only needs to be big enough for me to read what's playing on the stereo. I hate how many manufacturers are putting your most used functions on the touch screen, as opposed to having physical knobs and buttons. It takes your eyes off the road longer for the touch screen, whereas I can actually feel the knobs and buttons and adjust things without taking my eyes off the road.

Those are hilariously bad. And the Ram's is much bigger but from what I gather, it still operates like a 2008 ish smartphone.

they are pretty standard size for touch screens. Only thing bigger in a truck is the dodge.

What makes them hilariously bad?

Compared to the top of the line infotainment screens?

They're not in the same stratosphere in terms of functionality, for one.

You just proved my point with pics, GM interiors are terrible.

That Altima has 10000 better interiors than the Sierra

I dont want any of that shite.

I wish I could find a simply, well built truck without all the crap. I dont need a fricking seat that vibrates when someone passes me on the left. I dont need heated cup holders. I dont need a damn light to shine on the ground when I open my door and I especially dont need automated step rails.

I need good power in the engine.
Air conditioning (and heat).
Comfortable seats.

I do like electric windows and locks.

The rest of that bullshite is just there to provide dealerships with a revenue stream when it breaks.

No thank you.

Other than Tesla and Volvo what’s better than the F150? Not sure you have a clue what you’re talking about. Fords infotainment has shite I don’t even need, like movie times, weather with full radar, etc... CarPlay, climate control, built in nav or Apple Maps, waze integration.

What is it missing?

Don’t do it. It’s cheap Chinese crap. I don’t think there have been many people install those and retain all functionality.

Technology in new cars is a perpetual drain on wealth for most Americans.

Not anyone in this thread. Obviously. Just most Americans.

Tesla is miles ahead of all other vehicles in their class in terms of technology/infotainment. It's really not close.

I would agree. You get all the people that haven't even sat in one saying otherwise though
