“His comments do not reflect what we stand for, who we are. The classroom should never be a place where students feel that they are picked at, bullied, intimidated.”

Oh thank goodness. I remember seeing that when it came to light.

Dude is a jackass of the highest caliber. Does not belong anywhere near a classroom. Used profane language in the classroom too. Totally unbecoming of a secondary-level educator.

quote:

Salcido apologized at a City Council meeting in February, the paper reported, and attempted to clarify that his comments “had nothing to do with their moral character.”

Nice recovery there, dude. Yeah, you only called them, and I quote, "dumbshits."

Took them long enough. What was that, like a month ago?

Dude should’ve gotten fired and an arse kicking that same day.

It was a Latino teacher being fired in California. I am surprised it happened at all, frankly.

At least it was done. Why some of these teachers think it's okay do this is a mystery to me.

I wonder how far that school is from Pendleton or 29 Palms. Some pissed off Lance Corporal infantryman should’ve gone and given him a visit.

Military Staff NCOs & Officers make significantly more than school teachers, and they can retire and move on with life at 38-42.

Sounds like he’s a dumbshit.

I feel like you’re being sarcastic, but as a serviceman, stolen valor doesn’t really bother me as much as what this teacher did. Somebody that is committing stolen valor isn’t running down the military and military members as a whole. Sure, somebody committing stolen valor is a loser, but they’re not actively hurting the military.

Most people that were actually in the service don’t go around in their utilities or the dress or service uniforms in public unless they absolutely have to. I know in the USMC you are forbidden from wearing your utilities in public places.

Most actual military members don’t want the notoriety.

It's probably good that guy got fired but that shite doesn't bother me. I have more education than that guy does. Lot of military peeps do. I know a guy that was a Platoon Sergeant and had a law degree.

He was a great campaign aid for the RNC.

I agree

Some of those stolen valor videos and incidents involve people who aren’t hurting anyone

Now the fake navy seals who use that title to get a job or a stolen valor guy who shows up at funerals and public events in uniform is messed up

It doesn't bother me personally but do you want someone like this influencing the younger generation? Unfortunately, it happens.

That guy deserved what he got. He blatantly abused his platform in order to push his political agenda.

Now who's the dumbshit?

The G.I. Bill (Chapter 33) put me through college.

Why wouldn’t it bother you? This clown is teaching kids who might have been inclined to join the military, what if he changed their minds. He’s running down one of the few noble jobs we’ve got left in this country.

Hopefully this incident will follow him. I'd love to hear he's working at Burger King some day...
