That's how everything starts.
Unless one is clueless, one can tell if someone is into them by just the little things. Maybe it started with looks and a quiet hi in the hall or whatever and then transitioned to as you said. Always starts small.

I'm convinced this has something to do with it. I bet most were either goody-goody types or ugly ducklings that got hotter with age. I think they lost a lot of battles to the pretty, cheerleader types while they were in high school and now take it upon themselves to beat them out for the popular guy now in some weird revengeful kind of way.
The only winners here, like always, are the popular jock dudes in high school. Its a vicious cycle and I would give my left nut to be in high school again to try and capitalize on this phenomenon.
