It may not be physically wrong or mentally damaging.
It's just inappropriate and a breach of professional ethics, abuse of a position of authority and schools are not supposed to be your own personal brothel. Also once the students and fellow teachers find out a teacher fricked a student, it's hard to take her seriously in a professional environment as she would have no credibility after the fact. It undermines the learning environment.
I don't agree with criminal charges but you no shite should be fired for it and lose your teaching license over it or at least have it suspended for a to be determined amount of years.

Oh when I was 15 I would have. But I'm glad I never had the chance because any teacher who would is by definition batshit crazy.

meh, I was abused by a student teacher in hs, there was not even a 3 year age difference, very fond memories
