If oil is around $23/bbl why are we still using ethanol as an additive?

If ethanol is ethyl alcohol shouldn't we have plenty of hand cleaner.

40% of corn fields are planted for biofuels. If it was used for feed wouldn't food prices drop?

Using split infinitives is poor grammar, which deserves social scorn.

the scarcity is due to a spike in demand and potentially "plant output" limit, not a lack of component issue.
With time, the manufacturers will catch up to the demand. It's not rocket science.

A lot of posters are too young to remember the MSP networks all out blitz against starting ethanol gas. They went to Mexico to show tourist trap Mexicans making tortillas by hand and to extol how devastating to the dirt poor Latinos the rise in the price of corn would be. "Millions will starve to death!!!"

I shudder to think about those now long dead millions of Mexicans ... illegally entering the USA!

Senator Chuck Grassley of Iowa would be able to refute all these well known facts.

It's a federally mandated scam of the highest order to benefit large corporate agri farmers in the Mid West states.

Ethanol uses more energy to produce a gallon than does ordinary gasoline refining and has less energy density as well.

Makes absolutely no economic or technical sense for the country as a whole we have plenty of oil.

But Sen Grassley loves it and the votes and campaign cash he gets because of that.

I didn’t say you were using them. I thought you wanted a lesson.

Nonsense.

Like ending a sentence with a preposition, there are times in which it is inappropriate and times to boldly go forth with reckless literary abandon.

Because Iowa has the first presidential caucus every four years.
