What does the Louisiana Restaurant Association think about this? That’s a big lobbying group and I’m wondering if they are trying to sandbag enforcement.

A LA State Legislator told me years ago when this was starting to become a thing (2007 election, he was one of our “glorious” term limited reps switching over to Senate) that the LA Restaurant Association was a HUGE opponent to these types of laws. They even greatly opposed merely having to put “possibly imported” on their menus next to specific items.

Of course, he happily bowed down to their wishes. He was a complete pushover.

Has to be par-fried frozen. It’s gross, but us catfish is like $20 for two tiny fillets and fries.

local restaurant here used to serve pan seared or blackened grouper. they came out with new menus after covid shutdowns and now its pan seared whitefish

somebody called them out

It's legislation that wasn't needed imo. If you want to know just ask. No need to make restaurants print new menus for it
