I've spent quite a few months in Taiwan the past 2 years. I think a lot of people commonly confuse Taiwan with Thailand.
Thailand has the ladybois. Taiwan not so much (at least, not anything more than in the US). In my observations, the gay guys in Taiwan wanted to flaunt their gayness, not hide it by dressing up and being confused as a girl. Of course, I'm not an expert on that area, so I could've completely missed some things. But Thailand and Taiwan are vastly different cultures.
Taiwan as a whole is one of the most genuinely friendly places I have visited out of over 15 countries. And the women are exquisite... not really talking about the McD's Doll girl in the video. I'm talking about the over-25 women.
As for the McDonalds in Taiwan -- if any of you remember how McD's was in the early 80's -- freshly cooked food, perfectly ripe tomatoes and lettuce, everything hot but nothing soggy. That is what you get in the Taiwan McD's today.
