Well that’s a hell of a lot better than knowing 20 in your personal life

I see I see.
It must be pretty wild to want to help people and them later tell you that most of them rather you not

I've spoken with many health professionals, doctors, nurses,EMT's. They all say Narcan was the worst thing to enter our society.
Someone just made this up

Nah, it's modern society's reaction to it.
Laudanum used to be available everywhere. Opiates were easy to obtain. Everyone was fricking high the in 1800s and early 1900s. Everyone.
Wasn't just opiates, cocaine and wine was an extremely popular drink for several decades in the late 1800s.
It's only an epidemic now because we make it so hard to get safe medicines, so people turn to heroin which is incredibly strong on its own, but is now laced with fentanyl. Fewer people would be dying if they actually had access to strong enough pills to deal with their pain.

man frick off. I'm telling you what they said. Maybe got the wording a little wrong
Lmao... yea I know. Don’t bring facts into this shite show.
Look man, I get it.... we’re all tired of hearing about junkies and the bullshite that comes with them.
However, your associates in the medical field maybe should look into changing professions if they don’t wanna hear people bitch and moan all day about not feeling well. I’m sure those same pain in the arse junkies money spends just like everyone else. Seems like they would be rolling out the red carpet for such loyal customers!
The Lawn Service industry doesn’t have too many junkies turning to them for Narcan, tell them it’s about time to make the change.

100%
He used a fake story to start this discussion. If a doctor thinks a life saving drug is the worst thing to enter our society they need to find another profession.

What do you think the relapse rate of Narcan recipients is?

How is it that you folks know so many junkies who have been saved?
For the same reason you don’t know any that have been saved.
It’s hard to tell you how the experience was if you don’t make it.

I don't know. What does that have to do with what I'm saying the OP lied about?

What I’m saying is, how do y’all know so many people on heroin or fentanyl

The original (and much better) Nurse!
How have you been?! Threw me off not seeing the avy pic.
Still doing flight nursing? Didn't you get your NP?

It’s high. Really high. In most cases you’re delaying the inevitable, or taking away consequence from the action

There are quite a few posters in here that have been in treatment/rehab.
I'm sure those people have friends they did substances with before getting clean and also made friends in those treatment settings that share their experiences/issues.

So?
The OP still lied about "all the many doctors, nurses, and EMTs that said Narcan is the worst thing to enter our society"
That is a complete fabrication. It is something a non-healthcare professional would say. Or at the least someone who hasn't taken a Hippocratic Oath would say.

frick you, just a little.

Hi!!
the avy pic isn't 'supported' or something like that anymore and I don't think I have the original image anymore, so I just don't have one.
I quit flying in 2011. We had a helicopter crash in 2010 and 3 of my friends died in that crash. I flew until I felt I had 'worked through' all the PTSD and then handed over the baton.
How are you?
staying on topic- do you see that as nurses that he large majority of our profession aligns with the thought of what the OP referred to? Sadly, I think quite a few that I know don't see addicts or those who have OD'd with much if any compassion.
It is sad really. Because they sure get tore up over a code of someone whose diet/weight caused their arrest, but an addict who has overdosed is written off pretty easily.
