How close does it have to hit to ring your doorbell because that happened to me.

I'd expect the amount of lightning to correlate to how intense your rainfall is over the afternoon. All the reports of lightning in the last few minutes is very suggestive of convection once again increasing. That means more very heavy rain.

You're correct. I just got hit with another really intense round of rain. I now have water pooling up on my property in places I have never seen it gather before.

People laugh at me when I say this but I think there is something to it.

What’s the probability this place gets hit with 2 noteworthy hurricanes, an ice storm and then localized flooding?

Y’all done angered the Lord or something.

Just a slow moving little mid-level disturbance, and some outflow boundaries providing convergence at the surface to keep sparking things off. This was going to happen somewhere roughly in the region. It's just kind of incredible it's Lake Charles that just happens to get the bad luck again.

It just slacked off in my area. Maybe it can drain some before it starts back up.

210 looked okay, but lots of exits closed causing some back ups. Traffic was slow but moving

Some reports of Nelson at Gauthier receiving 15" of rain in 6 hours.

The gauge closest to me shows 8.6 so far.

You can check your areas here

CPSO taking boats out. I hate to go out in this mess but I have a relative with dementia and he wandered out in his truck without his phone. I need to go out and look for him.

Hearing Nina Ps and KDs are flooded.
This is absurd.

Can’t imagine rebuilding and then dealing with more water. Thankfully I have a roof and no floors or drywall currently, not much to hurt.
