The T2R38 gene makes people more sensitive to bitter tastes and also enhances immune function.

It has been linked to stronger immunity against infections. Research suggests that includes COVID-19.

"Supertasters" with two copies of the gene may be less likely to get COVID-19 and develop severe illness.

Interesting study done by a local ENT. There will always be a portion of the population that’s immune to whatever the latest virus is.

Dude! I’ve done this. My sister got the strips and my entire family tried it. I’m a non-taster, several super tasters in my family. We did this 6 months ago.

I know, I’m gonna die. It tasted like paper. So I tasted something, but not an extreme anything. I had family members that said is was terrible and had an aftertaste the rest of the night from the strips.

I don’t wish that - just think it’s asinine to have a Covid study linked with taste

If I go lick all the nasty handles on the shopping carts with my super taster buds - it’ll taste like shite and I’ll probably get Covid, herpes, and aids

Really? You wouldn’t think that it’d be important to identify those naturally immune to a new virus? Personally, I think it’d be great to know whether or not I needed to be vaccinated.

Good deal on the study participant! I was hoping someone here had done it. We learned about the study from one of that guy’s nurses. She was on a trip to Jackson Hole when we met her and talked about it.

That is very interesting. Anyone know anything on the blood type theory when it comes to Covid?

You’re obviously not understanding something. It’s a litmus paper style test stick. It test your genetic material for a specific attribute which is though to maybe be linked to Covid severity.

It has nothing to do with catching the virus and possibly something to do with your body’s reaction to Covid.
