No. It's the reason why 99% of lawyers give the other 1% a bad name......

Let's say you have a potentially fatal infection and a doctor wants to start treatment. He puts you under and you wake up without one of your legs. You are upset and you think it's okay if the doctor says, "Well, at least you're not dead"? Some of you people watch too much House

So hair loss and losing a limb are similar fates. OK I get it now. Thanks for the clarification.

Nice outburst.

It's all about whether the patient is informed about possible side effects and whether the maker of the drug provided adequate warning.

If you don't and the patient suffers a loss and it's something they should have been apprised of before consenting to treatment, then you have a lawsuit.

For frick's sake y'all just shite on just about anything.

You are a piece of shite.

Every first grader knows you lose hair because of cancer treatment via radiation.

I understand the argument you are making. That being said, literally everyone knows chemo is basically liquid poison and can leave you with permanent problems.

We as a people of this nation also have the ability to complain because idiotic lawsuits like this raise all of our health insurance premiums and prices of medical services.

Advancements in medicine are made all the time. In fact, drug makers strive to make new medicines without "popular" side effects normally associated with those types of medications or treatments. Who is in the better position to inform the patient of the side effects, the maker of the drug, or the person who watches General Hospital? And let's keep in mind that we don't know how this drug was represented to those who provided care to the patients.

I am sure doctors are trying to hurt patients.

Better sue them for as much as possible, that will improve healthcare.

Not once did I ever say that.

It's time to grow up, Tinkerbell. If every drug were forced to be free of dangerous side effects, they would never be approved and, even if they were approved, they would be too expensive for anyone to afford. Makers of drugs know this. They can't foresee every single side effect, and they anticipate future legal claims. It's the cost of doing business. And, it doesn't seem to hurt them, they are always racking in huge profit margins.

You only lose hair from radiation if the dose to the skin is high enough. Most patients who receive radiation do not lose their hair. Some will certainly lose hair around the area that's being treated. It just depends on the circumstances. Even when hair is lost, it's only in the area of skin that receives a high dose. Sometimes it comes back, sometimes it doesn't. Again, it depends on the dose.

I think he doesn't know that the DRUG involved in litigation is Taxotere, which is administered intravenously.

Yes.

I am alive. It was a complication in their life saving attempts, which were successful.

And we're not talking about losing a leg, we're talking about hair loss. FTR, I work in the cancer care industry and am in radiation and onco clinics regularly.
