Suicidal man takes shots at NOPD officer, ends up dead

NOPD called for attempted suicide, suspect shoots at (and hits) officer twice in the vest and then is met with return fire and hit multiple times. Officer ok, suspect deceased. Nola link

Officer did what he had to do. Hope he's okay both physically and mentally. The family of the suicidal person better not try to pull some crap and get a settlement from the department.

I knew a guy who did this, didn't actually shoot, but drove to the police station and brandished a weapon and made threats at officers. Sad story.
He had only recently cut his right hand off with a circular saw. He thought the devil was in it because he was jerkin it too much.
