The Hot Zone is awesome. And it doesn't take too long to read.

DiCaprio bought the rights to it in 2010...no idea if they've even written a script yet

DiCaprio will play HH Holmes

The Walking Drum by Louis Lamour, or any of his other books if you enjoy westerns and pholosophy

The movie was a deep departure from the book and did not do it justice. It is one of the greatest books ever written about sports, in my opinion.

A Chance To Win

I started it yesterday and got through 120 pages easily on the plane.

It's a true story set in Newark, NJ about an ex-con who was paralyzed during a drive by shooting. He was a top high school pitching prospect with a shot at the pros before he got in trouble. 4 years after getting shot, he volunteers to be a baseball coach for a group of 10 yr olds in one of the worst parts of the city

It's a great story, and follows him, a dad, and two of the players

My favorite book of all time

You will read it all in one sitting, and you will cry, and you will realize you are a shitty person and need to change some aspect of your life to be better

I hate to piggyback off this thread but I didn't want to start another thread. I just watched the World Wars on History Channel and I really enjoyed it. That said the WWII part was fine because I knew most of what happened geopolitically and on the battlefield so the focus on the men involved was fine but I realized how little I know about World War One.

So, I can start a thread if need be but, what's a good book that explains the geopolitical build up and fall out of World War One? Maybe one that also does a basic overview of what happened during the war. Not as basic as the World Wars special was but hopefully one that isn't 1500 pages.

ETA: Nvm, got bored and I wanna make a thread
