Honestly not at all familiar with this so not sure how it works, but received the email yesterday. Apparently it was announced back in Sept. but first I have heard about it.

Is this to try and stop the ticket bots scooping up all the tickets for resale?

That's what they will claim but this is really all about roping people into yet another digital service. There will be a charge for it eventually. Guaranteed.

I loathe these "wallet" and "passport" services because they put all your eggs in one digital basked and they all eventually get hacked.

At least when one site gets hacked I lose my info a single time. These mean I lose it across all services.

The federal government has used ID.me for many services for years. But don't worry, these are the same feds that released detailed security background investigation details, including SSN, complete address history, etc. for millions of us through the OMB breach and others.

I didn't think there were more than a few thousand (if that) tickets available for general public.Thought all were distributed through the teams, sponsors, and other connected people/orgs.
